Currently, I am going through a very rough time…financially.
So, I decided to do a little side hustling for the holidays – some methods are used by me and others by my peers. Here, are some quick and easy methods that can be used to earn money!
1. Online Paid Surveys
Reader: “What are paid surveys?”
Online paid surveys are websites/applications that brands and companies use to collect market research data on their products and services.
Some online paid surveys are easier to handle than others. I stumbled on a few that forced me to do a whole roundabout until I earned…$1.
Try your best to avoid those – you will recognize them immediately.
Proofreading is one of the easiest ways to make money from home, particularly if you are good at English – or other languages. If you enjoy reading and love nitpicking other people works, then you should become a proofreader!
The nice part about proofreading is that you can do it anywhere – from riding the bus to waiting at the doctor.
Of course, you can earn money through blogging. Unlike the ones above, this isn’t an immediate income. Although, there are many ways to earn an income if you have the patience to build up your blog. You can earn money through affiliate marketing, selling an ebook, ads, etc.
This part can be a bit tricky because many of us don’t truly understand how stocks work. I tried to enter the world of stock trading or investing once and I did a giant circle before understanding that it wasn’t the world for me.
So, as a new broke adult who is trying to figure out how adulting works, I skewed towards apps, such as Acorn to support me.
If you have a knack for stock trading – good for you. If you don’t – like the majority of the population. Go on the easy route – like me and allow Acorn to do all the work.
5. Selling Your Stuff
Selling your junk on Craigslist or simply a yard sale can provide you with a decent amount of money. It’s difficult to separate yourself with your junk, but it will grow your bank account – so you can purchase more junk!
6. Drive For Uber/Lyft
This isn’t a work at home, but it does give you a decent amount of cash. But first, remember driving for Uber/Lyft should not be a full-time job! I’ve witnessed a few people who tried to do that – and let’s say it didn’t turn out well.
7. Credit Card Signup Bonus
I hold two credit cards – Bank of America and Chase. If you’re good at paying all your loans on time, I say go for it. If you aren’t financially stable enough to pay all the loans, steer clear of this path.
8. Sell Your Photos Online

This does not take a lot of skill and it is an easy way to make money. Check out Craiglist, because there are always people who enjoy their room looking new, but doesn’t want to inhale the toxic!

11. Dog Walking
Walking dogs is a great side hustle and not just for teenagers! Just huddle them all together at once and go!
Make sure no reproduction is working in the process!
